Ayurveda is an ancient Indian origin science and originated around 5000 years ago. It is believed to be the oldest healing science in existence, forming the foundation of all others and that’s why Ayurveda is called as “Mother of all Healing Sciences”. The word Ayurveda has two root words in Sanskrit (Indian ancient language) i.e „AYU“ means life and „VEDA“ meaning knowledge. Literally Ayurveda means „Science of Life“, the complete knowledge of the totality and longevity of life.

Ayurveda knowledge is a pure knowledge, as it is believed that it originally come from Lord Brahma from oral tradition, taught and passed directly to human for betterment of human being. The beauty of this science is that it believes in natural way of healing and the basic principles mentioned in text are can be applied practically in any day and age. Thus the knowledge of Ayurveda has been passed down through centuries as a complete healing science, evolving to meet the needs of the time, yet remaining committed to its core principles.

Ayurveda Texts, scriptures & oral traditions ascribe their authorship to Acharya Charka, Acharya Sushruta, Acharya Vagbhata, Acharya Sarangadhara & others. Providing guidelines on ideal daily and seasonal routines, diet, behavior and the proper use of our senses, Ayurveda reminds us that health is the balanced and dynamic integration between our environment, body, mind, and spirit.

Ayurveda identifies three basic types of energy or functional principles that are present in every human being. Since there are no single words in English that convey these concepts, so we can use the original Sanskrit words Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Vata is the energy of movement, Pitta is the energy of digestion or metabolism and Kapha the energy of lubrication and structure.

Ayurveda is a remarkably individualized system of medicine. Each of us is born with a completely personal blueprint which depends upon qualities of parent’s gametes, time of fertilization, environment, diet and behavior of mother during pregnancy Etc. So, no two constitutions are exactly alike; therefore, no two human beings can have precisely the same expression of ideal health or disease.
